Coached in Tim's Daily BJJ Room
Teens training at Carlson Gracie Inland Valley aren't getting a watered-down program; they are learning Jiu Jitsu in the same technical, safe culture that Tim leads on the mats most days. Tim is renowned for his relaxed but highly detailed coaching style, focusing on building elite skill without the need to beat people up. By creating a positive team environment, he ensures that students develop properly. This approach gives teens the best of both worlds: the legitimacy of real, high-level training combined with the safety of expert coaching.
What Teens Gain From BJJ
We equip teens with the tools they need to navigate the world. It starts with confidence, the kind that changes how they carry themselves, and the practical ability to handle physical conflict safely. But the benefits go deeper: BJJ teaches resilience, focus, and emotional control, helping them manage stress on and off the mats. Physically, they gain an athletic edge that benefits any other sport they play. Ultimately, we provide a positive team environment where they can grow, giving them both a valuable skill and a supportive community.
Safe, Technical Training
Our curriculum covers the essentials of grappling: takedowns, defense, positional control, and the ability to escape from underneath an opponent. Submissions are taught responsibly with a heavy emphasis on safety and respect for training partners. We utilize supervised live rounds to help teens test their skills in real-time, allowing them to develop composure under pressure.
Gi & No-Gi - Both Offered
We offer both Gi and No-Gi training for teens. The Gi teaches structure, patience, and technical precision, while No-Gi emphasizes speed, athleticism, and scrambling. By training in both, teens become adaptable and complete grapplers who are comfortable in any situation, whether they have a uniform to grab onto or not.
